BANGALORE, June 10

IT'S that time of the year again when career choices have to be made and students face the pressure of not gaining an entry into engineering or a medical course.

For those with a creative streak and the willingness to try out an off-beat career with professional guidance, Bangalore-based Ample Technologies offers a six-week intensive course in movie-making.

Scheduled to start from June 24, the course called, `First Basic Cut,' will be co-ordinated by Ms Nikhat Aslam, Director, Magic in Motion (MIM). While Ample Technologies will provide the digital solutions for the course, MIM will provide the creative input.

The student is first introduced to the basics like camera handling, computer usage and later tries out mock productions with professionals.

Mr Rajesh Narang, CEO, Ample Technologies, says "For those who wish to pursue film-making as a serious career option this course would definitely provide the skills required at the entry level and act as a stepping stone.''

The course contents include recording sound scripts, a mock production with professionals, digital video camera exercises and a final 5-10 minute film that is visualised, scripted, directed and edited by the students.

The minimum qualification for the course is 12th standard or II PUC and the course fee is Rs 20,000.
