BANGALORE, June 7

THE Board for IT Education and Standards (BITES), Karnataka has launched its Web site — BITES-bangalore.org— and introduced the BITES Quality Index of graduate programmes in IT in engineering colleges in the State.

According to a press release, this makes Karnataka the first State in the country with a quality index of engineering colleges that will enable students to make an informed choice of the college, programme and the location.

BITES had analysed the common entrance test ranking of students that colleges/programmes were able to attract and the quality of performance of the college in the technical university examinations each semester to compute incoming student quality and outgoing student performance, the release said.
