Restore drawback on garments, handicrafts: FIEO

NEW DELHI, June 4

THE Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) has urged the Government to restore the drawback rates on garments and handicrafts to the pre-June 1 levels.

In a statement, the FIEO Vice-President, Mr S.K. Saraf, said that the move to cut drawback rates on woven and knitted garments would dampen exports of these items.

The reduction in drawback rates of several handicraft items, brass/plastic imitation jewellery, plastic items, rubber articles, coffee and tea would affect the exports of these traditional items, he added.
