Industry Associations CII team for China to promote Connected Asia Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, May 31 THE Vice-Chairman of Sanmar Group, Mr N. Kumar, is leading a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) IT delegation to China. The three-day visit, which begins on June 3, will see the delegation interacting with both the Government as well as the user-industry in China to promote the concept of Connected Asia. Connected Asia is envisioned as an informal grouping to link the major IT cities in Asia. Advances in ICT are concentrated in metropolitan areas and a city-centric approach allows Connected Asia to link with the most vibrant areas of ICT development in the region. An important aspect of the IT delegation would be the CII-Infocom Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore CEO forum meeting in Shanghai. A 15-member strong delegation from Singapore will also participate in the meeting. Among the members of the Singapore delegation are the CEO, Crimson Logic, Mr V. Mathivanan and the Chairman and CEO, System Access, Mr Leslie Loh. Most of the major domestic IT companies, including TCS, Wipro, Satyam and NIIT, will form a part of the delegation.
