Foodgrains Kerala: Raw rice, wheat supplies by mid-June Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has decided that fresh supplies of raw rice and wheat be made to ration shops by mid-June. The announcement came from the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Mr G. Karthikeyan, during the course of an interaction with officials of the Food Corporation of India (FCI). The meeting deliberated on the quality and availability of rice being supplied through the public distribution system in Thiruvananthapuram. The FCI was told to raise its stock of raw rice and wheat adequately. Only good quality rice would be lifted from the FCI godowns, the Minister said.
