HYDERABAD, May 29

SIS Software India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Surgical Information Systems Inc, a solutions provider for the US healthcare industry, is set to invest about $1 million in its India facility at Hyderabad, add more professionals and port its range of products to the .Net technology platform.

The Vice-President of Surgical Information Systems, Mr Drew S.Cobb, said that the company, which is a leader in the US surgical operating room and pre-operative care work flow communication tools, was in the process of scaling up the Hyderabad operations.

The Indian outfit, wherein already about $1 million has been invested so far in the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Atlanta-based company, addresses software solutions for hospitals in the US. It has about 63 employees now and expects to ramp it up to about 200 by the end of 2002.

While the Atlanta centre undertakes designs and prototyping work, the coding is outsourced to the India facility.
