Bill Gates award

NEW DELHI: The Gates Award for Global Health 2002, instituted by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will go to the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, for its efforts to eradicate polio by 2005. Rotary has contributed over $462 million towards polio eradication to help immunise more than two billion children in 122 countries, according to a Rotary press release. The award would be presented in Washington on May 30 at the council's 29th annual international conference.
