NEW DELHI, May 22
A HIGH-POWERED business delegation from Kyrghyzstan has sought the cooperation of the Indian business community in transferring the latter's technological expertise in the ``packaging'' area.
Addressing the third meeting of India-Kyrghyzstan Joint Business Council here, the visiting team stressed the need for more ``quality packaging'' of products manufactured in their country.
They held that Indian expertise in this area would also help boost bilateral cooperation in the food processing industry.
In his address, Mr Baktysbek Beshmov, Ambassador, Embassy of Kyrghyz Republic, said that his country was keen to enhance cooperation with the Indian business community for improving the tourism infrastructure of Kyrghyzstan.
``Indian companies can even lend their expertise in setting up golf courses in our country'', he said.
The bilateral trade between the two countries stood at $22.01 million during 2000-01, representing a 40.82 per cent increase over the $15.63 million recorded in 1999-2000.
