Vegoil meet on tech upgradation

MUMBAI: A national seminar-cum-workshop on "Technology Upgradation in Vegetable Oil Industry'', to be held in Mumbai on May 18, will discuss the latest technology available in the country to reduce cost of processing and improve product quality to international standards.

Apart from officials representing the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), nearly 150 oil technologists and technical experts from across the country are expected to participate in the meet, organised by the Solvent Extractors' Association of India.

The seminar is sponsored by Technology Mission on Oilseeds and Pulses, CSIR, Oil Technologists Association of India (west zone) and supported by 20 national and regional associations of the vegetable oil industry.

The three technical sessions that follow the inauguration will discuss refining of various oils, oilseeds processing technology and vegetable oil processing technology.
