Cisco clears regulatory hurdle

BANGALORE: Cisco Systems has announced that it has cleared a key regulatory hurdle in India and is now able to provide VoIP technologies and solutions to service providers in the country. After the legalisation of VoIP, the Telecommunications Engineering Centre of India approved Cisco's VoIP products for use in India, said a company press release. Cisco's VoIP products including the Cisco AS5400 series Universal Gateway and PGW2200 PSTN gateway will enable service providers interface with the networks of BSNL and MTNL through any of the PSTN signalling schemes.
