Codissia agri expo in August

CHENNAI, May 14

RECENT developments in agriculture, horticulture, waste land development, agro industries, biotechnology, floriculture, plantation crops and sericulture will be among the topics to be discussed at the agriculture fair being organised by the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) at Coimbatore from August 1 to 6.

The aim of the Agricultural International Exhibition - Agri Intex 2002 - is to highlight the development, growth and opportunities in modern agriculture and related activities of rural, national and global nature, according to the organisers of the fair.

According to them, Agri Intex 2001 attracted more than three lakh visitors, besides farmers from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. Along with the exhibition, a series of seminars on various topics is being organised. At least 40 companies have so far confirmed their participation in Agri Intex 2002.
