Supply Chain Management XPS Cargo into cold containers with Japan co Our Bureau
BANGALORE: XPS Cargo, the express cargo arm of TCI, has joined hands with Japanese majors, Mitsui and Yanmar, to foray into cold container business. XPS is likely to buy 50 diesel-powered containers by end-2003 for Rs 20 crore. The company aims to garner 40 per cent market share of the Rs 100-crore organised segment. The new technology called `cold chain' is likely to help in reducing transport cycle time of perishable items and, hence, those items could be offered at economically better rates.
