Advocates Act being reviewed

NEW DELHI, May 1

THE Law Commission of India has undertaken a study of reviewing the Advocates Act, 1961, for improving the standards of legal education and legal profession. The review by the Commission is in terms of its reference to revise and simplify the Central Acts.

In this connection, the Law Commission has prepared a working paper on the subject and circulated the same to various persons and organisations concerned including the Supreme Court, High Courts, Bar Council of India, Bar Councils of the States, various Bar Associations and others concerned to elicit their views on the subject.
