New Products & Services Bharti launches 32K SIM card Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: Bharti Cellular Ltd has announced the launch of its cellular services on a 32K SIM card for its customers in Delhi. According to a statement from the company, this makes it the first cellular operator in the country to offer its customers a 32K SIM integrated to a delivery Platform 5 (DP5) server. A similar service announced by Escotel a couple of weeks back is yet to be commercially launched. The statement notes that the 32K SIM will ensure ready access to SMS-based information, enhanced memory of the SIM, benefits of a fully laid out and customisable menu and other benefits in terms of special value-added services on the handset device. It will bring to the customers the benefits of enhanced memory, which would translate into a storage space of 250 numbers on the phone book (as opposed to 150 numbers in a 16 K SIM card) and up to 30 SMS in the message inbox. The 32K SIM is compatible to all phase 2+ handsets and all makes and brands of cell phones, the statement notes.
