Polluting exercise?

The imposition of a 20 per cent excise duty on cigarettes in New Delhi, as opposed to 50 per cent duty on other tobacco products, clearly reflects the Government's efforts at encouraging Delhiites to puff away. This move would, probably, entice the gutka-chewing population to switch to smoking.

One begins to question why the Delhi government is spending so much on CNG conversions when cigarette smoke is soon bound to make up for all the pollution diesel-run buses caused so far on Delhi's roads.
