Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, April 16

EMPLOYEES of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) all over the country joined the general strike called by various unions in the PSU, banks and insurance sectors on Tuesday.

In a statement here, Mr C. Sasidharan Nair, president of the Nabard Employees Association, said employees of the regional office of the apex agricultural bank here had responded wholeheartedly to the strike call given by the All-India Nabard Employees Association. The strikers were protesting the anti-labour and pro-management sentiments in the amended labour laws, increased tax burden on the salaried class and the common man in general and the indiscriminate privatisation moves initiated by the Centre.
