CHENNAI, April 9

THE ICICI Bank has the most number of ATMs in the country. Its 1,000th ATM was inaugurated in Mumbai last week.

According to a press release, the bank has invested into the BASE24 software, of the Chennai-based Financial Software and Systems (P) Ltd, (FSS), using which it has established connectivity across all the ATMs.

The ICICI Bank intends to increase the number of its ATMs to 3,000 in the next 18 months, the release says.

At present, the bank clocks an average of 2,50,000 transactions per day across its ATM network, or about 250 per ATM.

The bank has also implemented the PROGNOSIS System Management and Monitoring tool, which enables it to track all ATM-related failures. PROGNOSIS is a product of Integrated Research of Australia, marketed in India by FSS.
