Letters Holocaust in Gujarat
This refers to `Holocaust in Gujarat' (Business Line, April 4). The Surat riots had brought about much destruction. But the State's citizens helped restore Gujarat back to normalcy. It is shocking to read about the recent carnage. One thought it was only a matter of one day or even two...because the people of Gujarat are considered to be peace-loving. The article made one think. Yes, the riots in the State are similar to the ethnic cleansing Hitler ordered. If the Gujaratis are peace-loving, why are they not raising their voices against these atrocities? Will removing the Chief Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, solve the problem? Even if he is removed from office, it will take a long time to make people feel secure. Uma Moorthy
