NEW DELHI, April 7 THE Prime Minister, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, has said that his five-day tour to Singapore and Cambodia will give an opportunity to further strengthen the existing friendly ties between India and the two countries. "We have friendly ties with both the countries and my visit will give an opportunity to renew and further strengthen relations in bilateral context as well as within Asean," Mr Vajpayee told newspersons here before leaving on the two-nation tour. He also said that the importance attached to political and economic engagement within this region would again be underlined at the India-Asean summit meeting later this year. In Singapore, the Prime Minister hopes to discuss the entire range of issues of bilateral and regional concerns with his counterpart, Mr Goh Chok Tong, and other leaders. Mr Vajpayee would also interact with broad cross-section of business and industry representatives.
