Events Importance of alternative medicines stressed Our Bureau
KOLKATA, April 6 A TWO-DAY international conference on public health began here on Saturday with a call for utilising the wisdom of alternative medicines in addition to the accepted Western medical science. The conference has been organised by the International Parliament for Safety and Peace (IPSP) in collaboration with the Open University of Alternative Medicines (OUAM). Around 400 delegates, from Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa, are attending the conference. According to the chancellor of OUAM, Mr Dr Pradeep Kumar Biswas, if the health authorities and medical practitioners use the successes of each of the alternative medicine systems, the result will be positive for the society.
