Book on `AP Vision 2020' strategy

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Vision 2020 document of the Andhra Pradesh Government aims to transform the State's agriculture into a dynamic, high-growth sector. It proposes a six per cent annual growth rate for the agricultural sector.

But are these targets feasible? How realistic are the underlying assumption? Are policy interventions needed for the transformation? These questions have been dealt with in the book "Andhra Pradesh Vision 2020: Strategy for sustainable agricultural growth''.

The book, to be released by the State Agricultural Minister, Mr V. Sobhandreswar Rao, on Saturday is edited by Dr B. Yerram Raju and Dr N.G.P Rao. It is a volume of papers presented at a group discussion organised by the Society of Scientists for Advancement of Agriculture and the Farm and Rural Science Foundation at MANAGE here.
