HCL Insys number one PC co

NEW DELHI: HCL Infosystems (HCL Insys) is the number one desktop personal computer (PC) company in India in 2001 with a market share of 8.6 per cent, the company said, quoting an IDC report.

According to the report, HCL Insys shipped 1,51,104 PCs during 2001 as against 1,18,902 units in the previous year, growing by 27 per cent.

``Our long-standing presence in the Indian market has given us tremendous insight and expertise in servicing and anticipating all kinds of customer needs, ranging from a home PC user to multi-location complex enterprises,'' said Mr Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman and CEO of HCL Insys, in a statement.

The company maintained its dominance in the education, government, small business, banking and insurance sectors, the statement added.
