Hardware Corporate - Outlook Samsung thrust on storage devices Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: Samsung Electronics India Information and Telecommunications Ltd (SEIIT) is targeting an installed-base of five million personal storage device solutions in the country in 2002, up from the current three million. According to Mr Jin Kyun Choi, CEO, Storage Division of Samsung Electronics Co, SEIIT sold over 1.5 million units of storage devices in 2001. Mr Choi also stated that SEIIT would increase its network of service centres for hard disk drives by reaching out to 25 cities by the end of this year. For optical disk drives, the service network would be extended to 70 cities from the current 39.
