Kerala strike

The Government employees and teachers of Kerala are in the midst of an indefinite strike, purportedly to have restored some benefits they were enjoying till now and which the Government has abruptly withdrawn.

When one comes to realise that the major benefit withdrawn relates to the surrender of accumulated leave in exchange for proportionate cash, the flimsiness and unreasonableness of the strike is laid bare.

Looking at the way the striking employees demonstrate, one wonders whether they are elements let loose by some vested interests to heap abuse on the public and the Cabinet.

In all this, do they realise that they are part of what is known as Government, the face of which they are now showing in poor light?
