Tata Steel ties up with Nippon Steel

KOLKATA, Feb. 20

TATA Steel has signed a three-year technical agreement with Nippon Steel Corporation. The agreement is effective from April 1.

A Tata Steel statement said the pact would take the company's cold rolled automotive steels into the market for the highest-end applications. The agreement was signed by Mr B. Muthuraman, Managing Director, Tata Steel, and Mr I Koyama, Representative Director and Executive Vice-President, Nippon Steel.

The agreement covers pre-treatment of hot metal down to cold rolling and annealing practices. Tata Steel will also get advice on investments and technical and operational assistance.
