People Markets - People G.N. Bajpai to head SEBI Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, Feb.15 THE Government is set to approve the appointment of Mr G.N. Bajpai, Chairman of the Life Insurance Corporation of India, as the new chief of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The appointment of Mr Bajpai is expected to be approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) shortly. He will have a tenure of three years in line with the SEBI (Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairman and Members) Rules, 1992.
