Insat-3C at home

BANGALORE: Insat-3C on Thursday reached its space slot at 74 degrees East longitude.

The satellite launched on January 24 will be commissioned by February-end. Before that, its 33 transponders will be tested in the coming weeks. During its expected lifetime of 12 years, Insat-3C will provide telecom, broadcasting and also mobile satellite services. It is meant to augment and also replace the ageing 2C.
