The major blender, Hindustan Lever, continued to be selective in its purchases. Eveready lent good support on cheaper Assam and cachar brokens while there was fair support from Godfrey Phillips for medium Assam brokens. Western India markets were selective for better liquoring varieties and operated with much reduced limits. North Indian buyers continued to support to cleaner leaf Assams and Cachar brokens at lower levels. CIS shippers operated selectively for larger brokens, while Polish exporters lent support for boldest brokens at discounted levels. Dust offering continued to meet with selective demand at all around lower level. Good and better dusts met with selective enquiry from the Western India markets while medium and plainer sorts met with good enquiry from internal buyers and the major blender.
