Amadeus contract with Thomas Cook

NEW DELHI, Jan. 26

AMADEUS India, a provider of global distribution system (GDS) and travel industry technologies, has said it has signed an exclusive contract for leisure travel business with Thomas Cook India.

As per the contract, the leisure travel division of Thomas Cook would effect all reservations across its 13 leisure shops in 11 cities in India through Amadeus Central Reservation System, the company said in a statement here.

The contract also provides Amadeus access to all incremental business of the leisure travel division.

"With leisure travel in India poised for a seven to 10 per cent growth rate by 2002, we are confident that this contract will translate into a mutually beneficial association for both Amadeus and Thomas Cook,'' said Mr Ankur Bhatia, Managing Director, Amadeus India Subcontinent, in the statement.
