Telecommunications Corporate - New Products & Services Corel launches IRIS in Kerala Our Bureau
KOCHI, Jan 24 COREL Telecom, provider of telecommunications equipment, has launched its IRIS (Integrated Voice and Data Servicer) series of high-end EPABX systems in Kerala. IRIS is an indigenously designed switch capable of simultaneous switching of data and voice. Mr Rajesh Tuli, Managing Director, Corel Telecom said at a press conference here, that IRIS had been developed using the latest chipsets. It was designed to handle data as freely as it would handle voice traffic, he added. The product was targeted at large enterprises, SMEs and large housing societies which need compact switches. It has an extremely compact design, which was achieved by using VLSI (very large scale integration) chipsets that reduces the number of components. This reduction of components in the circuit reduced the fault liability of the system and consequently made the design very rugged and stable, Mr Tuli said. The line cards also have special features such as caller ID generation, polarity reversal, message wait lamp, DTMF generation and detection, on hook transmission, fax modem detection.
