LIC Housing net up 26.5 pc

MUMBAI: LIC Housing Finance Ltd. has reported a 26.5 per cent increase in net profit of Rs 32.12 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2001 as against Rs. 25.38 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Income from operations rose 15.7 per cent, to Rs. 214.53 crore from Rs. 185.27 crore.

Gross profit, after interest but before depreciation and taxation stood at Rs. 41.51 crore (Rs. 34.63 crore) showing a growth of 20 per cent.

Profit before tax stood at Rs. 41.31 crore (Rs. 34.25 crore). Net profit for the nine months ended December 31, 2001, stood at Rs 89.98 crore, growing 21 per cent. Income from operations for the nine-month period stood at Rs. 629.5 crore (Rs. 548.64 crore), showing a nearly 15 per cent growth.
