Our Bureau

MANGALORE: Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers (MCF), a UB group company, conducted a `safety training programme' for the safe handling and transportation of ammonia for road tanker crew, transporters and consignors.

According to a press release issued by the company, transportation of chemicals - including LPG, ammonia, sulphuric acid - by road is increasing due to increased demand and some of these chemicals are `hazardous in nature' and can cause damage to property and human life.

The training programme was conducted by a `safety consultant'.
