Sony India, Milestone launch PlayStation

MUMBAI, Jan. 23

SONY India Pvt Ltd announced a tie-up with Milestone Interactive Software Ltd on the eve of the launch of `PlayStation', a videogame console brand in India.

Milestone will provide software expertise for the PlayStation. The hardware part will be marketed by Sony India.

PSone is priced at Rs 7,900 that include a free racing software and one-year warranty. About 26 game titles are scheduled to hit retail stores shortly. The price of the software titles will be in the range of Rs 499 to Rs 1,299 each.

Mr Teruo Ishii, Managing Director, Sony India Pvt Ltd, quoting a recent A C Nielsen study, said the videogame market in India would grow to Rs 500 crore in the next three years.
