Hardware Corporate Results - Hardware HCL Insys net down 16% Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, Jan. 18 THE Delhi-based computing major, HCL Infosystems Ltd (HCL Insys), on Friday announced a 16-per cent fall in its net profit for the quarter ended December 31, at Rs 14.6 crore over Rs 17.49 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net sales of the company during the quarter stood at Rs 271.85 crore, down by four per cent from Rs 282.64 crore in the same period, HCL Insys said in a statement here. For the six-month period, net profit of the company was 27.07 crore on a net sales of Rs 507.33 crore as against Rs 36.71 crore in the corresponding period on a revenue of Rs 575.20 crore. On a sequential basis over the first quarter ended September 30, HCL Insys, however, managed to improve its performance by registering a 17-per cent growth in net profit. In the first quarter, the company had clocked a net profit of Rs 12.47 crore. "We kept intense focus on the software and system integration exports business. And I am encouraged by the success we had in overseas projects,'' said Mr Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman and CEO of HCL Insys. He said the company was hopeful of augmenting its recently started call centre business. In the overseas market, the company saw success coming in from new projects as well as from existing customers.
