Icrisat seminar on rural women

HYDERABAD: The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (Icrisat), with the support of FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, will be organising a conference on `Rural women in knowledge society' at Bangkok in June this year.

The conference is being organised in preparation for the United Nations world summit on knowledge society scheduled for 2004. It will focus on the use of information and communication technologies relating to agriculture in drought-prone areas of Asia, according Dr V. Balaji, Head of Icrisat's Information Systems. — Our Bureau
