Wipro, Cisco pact on telephony

BANGALORE: Wipro and Cisco Systems on Tuesday announced the setting up of an IP-based converged communications infrastructure based on Cisco's AVVID platform at Wipro's global technology services division - Wipro Technologies.

Cisco's AVVID-based IP telephony solutions provide end-to-end voice and video services within all locations of Wipro Technologies. The solution integrates Cisco's complete range of IP-telephony solutions for a closed user group enterprise network, said a Cisco press release. Cisco has also implemented a comprehensive LAN Switching solution consisting of Gigabit Ethernet connectivity at the core of the network, while delivering speeds of 10/100 at each and every desktop across all the Wipro Technologies Development Centres globally, it said.
