Satnam forays into readymade foods

NEW DELHI: Satnam Overseas, promoter of premium basmati rice Kohinoor, is diversifying into readymade food items targeting both domestic and international markets.

There are growing number of readymade food items crowding the retail shelves and to take advantage of the emerging scenario, the company with a 26 per cent market share in the premium rice, has made forays into `ready-to-cook' and `ready-to-eat' products categories, a company release said.

One of the items introduced in both domestic and international markets is readymade rice called 'rice and spice', besides other vegetables in the category of heat and eat, it added.
