TVS sales up

BANGALORE, Jan. 1

THE TVS Motor Company announced today that motorcycle sales for December 2001 increased to 43,220 units as compared to 30,859 units in the same month of 2000.

TVS' overall sales during the month rose to 73,259 units as compared to 66,319 units in the same period last year, a company press release said.

TVS Scooty sales, however, declined to 8,432 units during December, as compared to 10,641 units in the same month last year. Moped sales also dropped to 21,582 units as compared to 24,813 units in December last year.
