Cardamom auctions to begin on Aug 17

KOCHI: The first cardamom auction of the current season will begin on August 17 at Vandanmedu in Kerala.

The meeting of the cardamom auctioneers and cardamom growers held on August 1 here under the auspices of the Spices Board had decided to commence the cardamom auction for the current season, an official press release here said. The second, third, fourth and the sixth auction would be held at Bodinayakkanur on August 19, 20, and 21 and August 23 respectively.

The fifth auction would be held at Kumily on August 22 while the seventh at Vandanmedu on August 25, it said. -- Our Bureau
