Some really sound selling
It was close to the end of a long day. On the last `literal' legs of our tired tourist feet, it was purely accidental that my husband happened to feel inspired by a rather small signboard. Maybe this is what they mean by the accidental tourist?

Consumer Notes
No cure this
The US government through the FDA (Federal Drug Authority) has banned the use of cold-cough remedies, which contained Phenylpropanolamine (PPA). Almost all the cold-cough remedies contain certain quantities of PPA. PPA is used to clear lungs, to inhibit lethargic reactions and therefore included in the recipe of cold-cough remedies. It is also used as a decongestant to treat sinus congestion and stuffy nose. In the US, it is also used as slimming agent as PPA suppresses appetite.

She is where the need is
If Dr Sunita Agarwal's knee had the spunk that her spirit has, she probably wouldn't have been a doctor. Talking in riddles are we? Sunita, an international gold medalist in swimming was hindered by her knee when she was 16 and had to renounce a career i n swimming to take up her next pet call of labour -- ophthalmology.

Health
Catching that psychic giggle
Yesterday, meeting Gunchan was a revelation. She came dancing in, bringing the humming vibrancy of the Dharamashala hills to our urban throb.

Information Technology
In search of...
The quest for information forms the soul of the Internet. In that respect, search engines form the cornerstone of every netizen's quest. Occupying a niche of its own in the online realm is Google -- one of the Internet's most respected and highly rated s earch engines.

Miscellaneous

Sponsors to the fore
BBC World, recognised as a niche international news channel, is now looking at programme sponsorship and helping out is Sunita Rajan, its Deputy Airtime Director.

Set your self free
Rousseau's famous statement in The Social Contract: Man is born free; and everywhere he is in chains. One thinks himself the master of others, and still remains a greater slave than they -- still holds true.

Travel & Places

Living down a past
South Africa was an incidental transit stop for Europeans in the 15th century, as they launched their explorations to secure a sea route to India. As the 747 swoops down gently on the runway at Johannesburg, once the darkest corner of the dark continent, a sense of awe for space and distance evolves. Close your eyes on the runways of South Africa and it is easy to imagine the majestic lions ready for their mid-day meal.

A total package
Limpid water springs, pomegranate orchards, pistachio gardens, rows of Lombardy poplars, star-lit nights, rocks, deserts, mountains, endless high and low lands, snow-clad extinct volcanoes, the luxuriant forests of the Alborz mountain range, and the coas tline of the Caspian Sea are amongst the eye-catching and memorable landscapes of Iran -- all of which have the potential to attract tourists from around the globe. There are innumerable historical sites as well, and also buildings that are an amalgam of old and modern architecture. Iranian history dates back to the 2nd century B.C. and the country boasts of a culture that has continuously evolved since then.

At the ritzy Riviera
Folly, mystery, wonder, fascination... Four words that form the perfect description. The Cote D' Azur, as the French Riviera is known, has never been embarrassed by its fame. This is the world's most upscale playground and the haunt of the top internatio nal movers and shakers.
