FAO scales down global cereal output forecast
WORLD cereal output in 2000-01 has been provisionally estimated at 1,852 million tonnes, up slightly from November forecast, but down 1.8 per cent from 1999-2000 figure of 1,885 million tonnes, according to Food Outlook published by United Nations Food a nd Agriculture Organisation (FAO) today.
