Check IEC status on Web: DGFT

NEW DELHI, Aug. 4

EXPORTERS and Importers have been directed to check the status of their Import-Export Code (IEC) from the Web site WWW.dgft.delhi.nic.in.exim 2000 under the index `IEC status at Customs' to avoid any inconvenience or demurrage.

A statement issued by the Directorate-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said that customs authorities will not clear consignments against those IECs which are not available on the Web site.

The DGFT had recently undertaken an exercise of validating the Permanent Account Number (PAN) based IECs which were issued earlier. The validated IECs have, in turn, been transmitted to the Customs authorities and placed on the Web site, the statement ad ded.
