Zee TV to wear new look

MUMBAI, June 16

IN a bid to strengthen the brand leadership among the Indian Diaspora across the world, Zee TV Channel is adorning a new look soon.

Starting this week-end, the channel will put on a fresh appearance with different colours and a completely varied signature tune `to suit its changing image.'

The logo will also change from the original blue and pink to deep purple background, golden Z letter with the words Zee TV in black.

``We want to contemporarize the image, look and feel of our channel to cater to the changing profile of our viewers,'' said Mr. Mubin Khan, Brand Manager, Zee TV.

``These graphics will further strengthen the look, feel and appeal of Zee TV to its viewers not only in India but all over the world,'' he said.

Zee Network, which is in the process of reworking the identity of all the channels within its bouquet, has commissioned Novocom, the specialist company for channel graphics and identity, for the assignment.

Work on this relaunch of the channel identity began in July 1999. Shortly, after the re-launch of the Zee TV brand, Zee Cinema and Music Asia will come up for a changed identity in July. Music Asia will become Zee Music.

According to Mr. Khan, the entire process of change in brand identity will be completed by the end of the year.

The main aim of the changed identity of the channels in the Zee fold is to maintain a link with all the family channels that are yet to establish a distinct identity between each of them, Mr. Khan said. He however, did not reveal the value of the Zee TV brand.

Alongside the change in the identity of the channel, Zee TV is also introducing changes in the programming content. It is due to launch an entertainment breakfast show lasting one hour from Mondays through Saturdays.

``It will be a complete entertainment show without news capsule,'' said Mr. Khan.

The channel is also relaunching its serial, `India's Most Wanted'. Three new serials - `Samay', `Sampat & Sampat' and `Little Mirchi Thoda Pepper' - will be launched next month.
