A RECENT report by the Institute for Employment Research, University of Warwick, on 2000 manpower update _ The worldwide demand for and supply of seafarers _ has said the current shortage of officers will worsen in future, unless training is increased, o r immediate measures are taken to address the rate at which seafarers leave the industry.
