China may import record soyabean
CHINA'S soyabean import demand in the 1999-2000 marketing year (October-September) is expected to reach 5.9 million tonnes, a new record high and up 55 per cent from last season.

SURE, coffee retention in a glut situation seems like a smart thing to do, never mind the traders' crib that they may lose the export market if they do not export enough bags. Holding back stocks may push up prices and help the growers out of their prese nt misery, for the immediate present. But what of the long-term?
